Know that our students come in all shapes, sizes, age groups, and physical condition.
It can take several classes to get used to the heat. Most people start to see and feel the benefits in their first 10 classes.
No pre-registration is required.
Arrive at least 15 minutes before your first class time to get signed up and settled.
You will need a yoga mat, a large towel, and water for class. All of these items are available to rent or purchase at the studio.
Showers are available for use after class. Bring an extra towel if you would like to shower.
Come to class well hydrated and avoid eating 2 hours prior to class.
All classes are heated, come in lightweight clothing.

All classes are appropriate for all levels from beginners to advanced students. As a beginner, you simply do each posture to your comfort level. As your knowledge and understanding of the postures increase, you will learn to decipher what your body needs in each.
Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises done in a specific order, designed for our cultural problems of stress, overeating, bad posture, and aggressive lifestyles. This exact technique and series of fixed poses brings better health to anyone willing to try it. It is the most accessible and inclusive yoga in the world.

Yes, it is common to experience feelings of nausea and diziness at the start of your practice. It is important to remember that you are asking your body to do something new and it takes time to adjust. If these feelings come up sit down for a few minutes, let your heart rate slow and your breathing return to normal. Remember, all you have to do is breathe, everthing else is optional.
Yoga is a lifelong practice that requires commitment and dedication. For new students, a regular and consistent practice is recommended for the first few weeks. Most people start to see real benefits in their first 10 classes. It can take a few classes to get used to the heat but in a short time you will love how you feel. After you have established a solid foundation, practicing 3 times per week is recommended for continued maintenance of benefits.
Due to the extreme sweating experienced during a hot yoga class, proper hydration is important and requires forethought. It is recommended that you drink at least 1-1.5 liters of water throughout the day of each class. It’s important to keep in mind that it takes at least 45 minutes for your body to process water, so chugging a few glasses right before or during class won’t help. If you find yourself extremely thirsty during class that’s usually a sign that you’re not hydrating enough beforehand. Make sure to hydrate well after class. If you find that you are very tired or get a headache after class you might not be drinking enough water. Keep in mind, proper hydration is not just about water consumption. Electrolytes are minerals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium that are crucial to the body for proper muscle function as well as proper absorption of water. If your electrolyte levels are off, your body will not be able to absorb water effectively no matter how much you drink. Symptoms of electrolyte deficiency include dizziness, headaches, cramping after class, and fatigue. The best indicator of electrolyte levels is the color of your urine. If your urine is clear, that is a good sign that the water you are drinking is passing through your system without being absorbed. Sources of electrolytes include coconut water, pickle juice, tomatoes and tomato juice, bananas, figs, oranges, and lemons.
Yes, This is a practice for everyone who thinks they can’t do yoga because they use a wheelchair or walker, have arthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes, a bad back, injured knees, are overweight, or have limited mobility. Don’t let anything or anyone stand in the way of improving your quality of life. Healing requires increased circulation to the injured area and both the heat and the postures promote that circulation. It is important to remember that when you are working with an injury; patience is essential! The healing benefits of each posture come from proper form, not from depth, so pay close attention to the alignment of your body and listen carefully to the instructions. Although you might be uncomfortable at times during class you should never be in pain.
As with any form of exercise, women should not begin practicing for the first time during a pregnancy. Women who have maintained a regular practice can, and should continue practicing while pregnant. A break during the first trimester is recommended. There are specific pregnancy modifications so make sure to let your instructor know if you are expecting.
